Summerhill Ladies are delighted to announce that Shane Dunne has been appointed as our Intermediate Manager. Shane is from the Hill of Down and plays his football with Clonard. He was part of the winning Junior B Championship team of 2011 under the guidance of Meath great, Kevin Foley from whom Shane learned a lot. In 2016 Shane was captain of the team that reached the Div 5 county final.
Shane has a lot of experience coaching & managing both ladies and men’s teams. He has trained the Clonard U15, U16, Minor & Adult Ladies teams. He has achieved success in the U15 Championship, U16 Championship, Minor Championship, the Adult Junior C Championship and in the Masita Cup with his teams. In 2020 the Junior B team reached the final & in 2021 they reached the Div 5 League final. Shane was also involved in coaching Ballinabrackey/Clonard U20 Men’s team that reached the 2021 Div 1 Championship final.
Shane has completed numerous coaching courses - LGFA Coaching Fundamentals, LGFA Level 1 Coaching, Sports Nutrition, Coach the keeper, Defensive units, Kickout strategies & Video analysis, stats & their uses.
Shane is married to Lisa, a Donegal native. Lisa also plays for Clonard after transferring from Sean MacCumhaill’s Club in Ballybofey. Lisa represented Donegal from underage to senior level.
